Our Story

We started out as a small group of believers meeting to read the Bible, pray, and apply God’s Word to everyday life. As that desire grew, so did our conviction that our growing town needs the good news of God’s grace, through the preaching of God’s Word. With the support of partner churches and the FIEC, we formed as a church and began meeting weekly in January 2026.

Our Mission

Our mission is to make and mature disciples of Jesus Christ in Saffron Walden, so that the 17,000 people of our town may know Him and grow in His grace.

We aim to be the kind of church the Bible describes, shaped by biblical teaching, faithful prayer, heartfelt worship, real friendships, and a deep care for others.

Our Beliefs

We are a Christian, independent, evangelical church. That means we believe in the historic Christian faith expressed in the Apostles Creed & Nicene Creed, and we subscribe to the FIEC (Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches) statement of faith. We believe the Bible is sufficient for all of life and all our ministry is Bible-centred.

  • In essential beliefs, we have unity (Ephesians 4:4-6)

  • In non-essential beliefs, we have liberty (Romans 14)

  • In all our beliefs, we show love (1 Corinthians 13:2)
